My first days in Prague were a journey! From navigating an airport alone for the first time to going through customs (it’s a lot easier than I thought) to meeting my landlord and new roommates. Prague has exceeded my expectations; it is the most beautiful city I have ever been to too. And the people are extremely kind, not just the locals but my AEP classmates! Everyone is so happy to be here and to connect. Being here makes it seem less daunting than what I had imagined. My room is huge; I have two closets, and two beds! Across the street there is a flower shop and a coffee shop and right under my apartment are two restaurants, aways busy but never loud. I took the tram for the first time and was able to ride through the streetlights in some kind of warmth compared to the freezing weather outside. Every building is a work of art, and no matter where you are, you’re never far from a restaurant, bakery, or a museum. I haven’t felt homesick or jet lag yet. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve processed that I’m in Europe. A lot of things remind me of home, same foods my mom would tell me she grew up on and the same kolaches that you can find in West Texas, that we would always stop on road trips to get. I’ve only seen so little of Prague and I’m already in love!
