ABROAD: THE FINALE

truly the best 4 months of my life.

108 days.

6,041 miles from home 🤍

not enough time.

thank you Barcelona for showing me the core of who I am as a person.

teaching me BALANCE to the extremes. the truth that hides within the saying ‘work to live &&& not live to work’

the importance of trusting myself.

&&& the community that you surround yourself with soon enough becomes your foundation. those little relationships, well they bloom! so don’t be afraid to be the person that introduces yourself to everyone in your building or talk to that boy. it doesn’t last forever & you have to take advantage of this experience.

my wanderlust was cured as i truly traveled far enough to find myself & it was written perfectly. my two dreams: nazare & ibiza came true. my heart is filled with so much gratitude.

which leads me to:

i want to give you the best abroad tips after my semester here:

say yes to everything!! you will never have this experience again!!
sleep comes back!! don’t let this dictate your nights/ adventures.
embrace the culture, try to speak their language (it’s not easy!!) & the work to live life
BUILD YOUR COMMUNITY. have a consistent coffee shop, workout place, restaurants, teachers !!! this is what makes this so special, the relationships you didn’t see coming that will last a lifetime
you will spend 90% of your time alone, spend it wisely!! enjoy your time with yourself :))
don’t be afraid to explore by yourself ! after class or with friends !! there is always more to see!!
live first, document later !!
HOME IS A FEELING NOT A PLACE
DO A SOLO TRIP!! you get to call shot shots !! it’s so fun for yourself !!
don’t be afraid to share your opinions with your travel buddies – traveling for so long and so often is exhausting – honesty and transparency are key
don’t waste time anticipating the next trip, instead live in the now!! LIVE IN THE NOW!!!
take a deep breath, barca isn’t gone but it’s embedded within you now
