Studying abroad has always been a dream of mine—it’s something I’ve longed for as far back as I can remember. This opportunity for personal and academic growth feels like a pivotal moment in my life, and I am beyond excited to embrace it. I believe this experience will help me create greater individuality and independence, which are essential as I continue to shape my future. During my time abroad, I hope to immerse myself in diverse cultures and environments. I’m eager to visit my family in Florence, watch the surf at Nazaré in Portugal, and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland, and explore the vibrant streets of Amsterdam. These experiences will allow me to gain new perspectives, connect with different people, and deepen my understanding of the world.

On an academic level, I’m especially excited to explore the concept of Blue Zones and their relevance to health and wellness. Learning more about these areas of the world where people live the longest and healthiest lives will not only enrich my studies but also provide valuable insights I can apply to my future career in health and wellness. Additionally, I’ll have the opportunity to conduct research in Switzerland with VIR, which will expand my knowledge and understanding of global scientific issues. This research experience will contribute to my personal growth and offer a more well-rounded view of the world, its challenges, and the solutions we are working to implement.

Overall, this study abroad experience will allow me to grow both academically and personally while providing me with the tools to contribute meaningfully to the global community.
