Policies & Procedures

All faculty and staff accompanying TCU students abroad must follow the Procedures for TCU Sponsored Activities Away from Campus, outlined by the Chancellor’s Cabinet. The Office of Risk Management gives advice, interprets policies, and makes judgments regarding actions/practices abroad.

While Deans and Unit Heads give approval and have oversight for these programs, the University has appointed the Center for International Studies to be a central point to store and share information.

Process for Taking Students Abroad

  1. Complete the online Faculty & Staff Study Abroad Orientation, once per year. Read How to Complete the F/S Orientation.
  2. Request a Program-Specific Orientation Site from the Center for International Studies
  3. Follow the Checklist for Taking Students Abroad
  4. Register your travel on the Faculty & Staff International Travel Registry. Read How to Register International Travel
